Dr. Jody Musick PT, DPT, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT– Jody graduated with a double Bachelor’s of Science in health science and biology from Shenandoah University (1996), then went onto be accepted into Shenandoah’s physical therapy program. He received his Masters in 2000 and his Doctorate in 2005. During his time in practice he became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist 2000 (COMT) and a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist in 2005, as well as, completed a manual therapy fellowship training program in 2006 (AAOMPT). Jody is the founder of Achieve Health and Wellness in Gray and Kingsport Tennessee. Achieve Health and Wellness Inc. is a freestanding outpatient physical therapy facility that is privately owned and is committed to providing you with the most effective physical therapy services in the area. Jody also is a senior lecturer for Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars and educates other healthcare providers in manual therapy, clinical reasoning, and outcome driven processes to conservative medicine. Jody believes personalized attention and working in a one-on-one atmosphere with a licensed physical therapist with manual therapy training and advance orthopedic knowledge is the best way to achieve patient outcomes.
Dr. Jonathan Baker PT, DPT, OCS, COMT-Jonathan is a native of rural southwest Virginia, and a 2006 graduate of The University of Virginia’s College at Wise with a BA in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from East Tennessee State University in 2011. Since earning his DPT degree he completed the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminar(MAPS) Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2016. He obtained his Board Certification as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2017 from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist. He was accepted into the inaugural program as a Fellow in training with the MAPS Orthopedic Manual Therapy Fellowship Program in 2016. He completed his fellowship training in Gray, Tennessee, and will graduate as a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2019. Jonathan has been practicing physical therapy in outpatient orthopedics and skilled nursing for 7 years. He is a member of the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association, a Tri-Cities District Chapter of the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He enjoys treating spine pathology and running injuries.
Dr. Jacob A. Wright PT, DPT, COMT– Jacob was born and raised in a small town in Northeast Ohio. He received a Bachelors of Science degree and Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. He has been practicing in our Achieve locations for 5 years. He has completed his certification in the Maitland based approach of orthopedic manual therapy (COMT). He currently is a fellow-in-training through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars Fellowship Program.
Dr. Caleb Pearson PT, DPT– Caleb grew up locally in Kingsport, TN. He received an Associate’s Degree in Pre-Health Professions from Northeast State Community College then transitioned to East Tennessee State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. He then received his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from ETSU in 2015. Caleb is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) which signifies a greater depth of knowledge and clinical proficiency in the area of orthopedics. He is currently working to complete the Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy program through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). In the future he plans to complete the MAPS Fellowship Program in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. When he is not at work Caleb enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as their family and friends.
Alan Bunger PT, DPT, Cert. MDT, COMT – Alan graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Exercise Science in 2007. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Tennessee State University in 2010. He served the first 6 years of his outpatient orthopedic career in Middle Tennessee. During that time he received his certification in mechanical diagnosis and therapy (Cert. MDT) through the McKenzie Institute and his certification in orthopedic manual therapy (COMT) through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). He currently is a Fellow In Training (FIT) in the MAPS fellowship program under the supervision of Jody Musick. Alan is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
